Hello All,
I'm far from a bird expert. A friend sent me this photo and
asked me for help identifying the bird. It was taken with a
cell phone and is of poor quality. Can anyone ID this bird?
Jim

I can't ID it (other than a wild guess at some type of Woodpecker) but you may have more success if you include the location it was taken :)

Yup, looks like a Downy Woodpecker to me. Location on where this was taken would certainly help, though.

Hello again!
Sorry, I should have mentioned that the pic was taken near Cleveland, Ohio.
My thought was a woodpecker also, but the beak looks very UN woodpecker like.

I have a large number of Downies and a pair of Hairys visiting my feeders and they're identical except the Hairy is about 1/4th larger and has a longer beak. The Downey has a stubby beak and this is what it looks like you have here.
