Tempting, oh so tempting.

Does the the 7D really produce soft images or is it just folklore?

I've been going through the pictures I took at a recent trip to Disneyland. All shot with my 7D and the Canon 15-85 lens. The vast majority are pretty sharp. I think it has a lot to do with your focus settings. I used mostly spot focus as I was shooting family members. On the few scenic shots I took I used 19 point auto focus.

I recently acquired a nifty fifty and it takes some really nice sharp pics. I think sharpness is a subjective measurement and in the eye of the beholder. IMHO it is mostly folklore.

Don't have one yet. Thinking of getting one for a backup and additional reach.

i actually think it might be the 5dII used/refurbs hitting the market that's driving down the price. that and the life cycle of the 7D has actually been pretty long. when the new firmware comes out, prices will go back up a bit, but not for long.

If you can read this, you don't need a macro | 7D + 5DIII + Waaaay too much spent....

Type "42nd Street Photo scam" without the quotes into google and read for yourself what others have said.

the Canon CLP has the 5D2 at $1500! Might as well add $300 and do that!

Probably very convenient - if they manage to sell you $$$ of overpriced garbage accessories - they can go to B&H and actually buy the camera they sold you

The 5D MII is an amazing camera, but the 7D has many things that may be important to a user such as a superior autofocus system, a very fast frame rate, and many other features.
