what battery packs are you using on each light? the vagabond minis? I'm dying to get rid of my vagabond and all the damn cables

Yep! Using the mini's. I know that one mini for each strobe is probably a TAD overkill, but it's REALLY nice not having to worry about tripping over cords and easily moving your strobe/stands independent of each other.

It's very possible. I have 4 speedlites, and sometimes use them during the day at full power....which sucks. Getting a circular polarizer this week to help out! :D

You need a couple more speedlites with some power. ;)

But wouldn't a CPL kill flash power as well?

Of course. You loose about 1.5 stops.

Exactly, so if you need full power from a speedlight in the day, and you have a cpl which would lower the ambient by 1.5 stops, you'd still need to shoot at 1/1, no?

Important to remember as well that the CP cuts light in one plane (vertical / horizontal/ etc) so how your flash hits panels and glass effects how it looks with the CP on as well

Have always loved the 8 series! Very nice - maybe adding a flash inside the car and a bit more on the side (maybe 1 more flash?) and/or a longer shutter speed to get a bit more ambient in. Love the color of the sky - almost matches the car - a little more ambient may have made it pop even more.

Ignore the speedlights in the setup picture, my friend was using those, I was using the two AB1600's...And...Call me crazy, but I like the setup shot better than the final result.
