Body is OK, nothing flashy or impressive, but it does look like its been designed to work good in the hand, the lens got me more excited however....

22mm f/2 STM, if we're talking APS-C or near APS-C sized sensor like it notes, we get a roughly 35mm f/2.8 in terms of DOF, Thats a pretty good combo for the compact size...

Looks VERY tiny too...

I put my money on the fact its using a variant of the T4i's 18mp sensor...they recently found out it has Phase Detect AF on the sensor like the Nikon 1....

For me personally, the looks look like every other P&S/70% of mirrorlesses, but if it performs who cares!

Sounds interesting, particulary if an APS-C sensor is used...

No built-in viewfinder? No pop-up flash? Where are the camera-top control dials? Looks plasticky. Looks like I'll keep my E-P3.

TBH id rather have one that actually performs... they can make a pretty one later

Right now we have:

Nikon 1: Tiny, but really meh image quality, crappy lens selection, crappy build quality

m4/3: Best selection of lenses out there, IQ is pretty decent, size is good, Probubly the best all round system

Sony NEX: Best IQ out there, lenses are huge though, lenses are also quite iffy in terms of optics for the most part, it is very well made though

Pentax Q: ....Do i even have to bother with whats wrong with this thing?

From the picture, Canon looks to have the Size right, if they got an APS-C sensor in there they'll have the IQ to go with it, and a 22mm f/2 lens is more interesting than many of the "kit" primes (Sony's 16mm f/2.8, Panasonic's 14mm f/2.8 and 20mm f/1.7, Olympus's 17mm f/2.8 and Nikon's 10mm f/2.8) giving you a 35mm f/2.8 in FF terms versus 24 f/4, 28 f/5.6, 40mm f/3.5, 34mm f/5.6 or 28 f/7.5, Which gives you class leading isolation ability...only the Panny 20mm comes close... Also a 35 is considered by many to be a great street lens/general usage standard...

Now, The only way for Canon to screw this up is for it to be rediculously expensive (Over $1000) Or for it to have some other really glaring fault...

Control dial around the shutter release, as for plasticky we dont know the final price, This could be a $500-600 camera, and plasticky is possibly fine, it could also be magnesium coated in plastic like the 7D and most other high end bodies...

If it manages to provide the same functionality as my S95, in a smaller form factor ill get one. Was already considering the NEX or another m4/3 setup before now.

I really hope there is some sort of ef/efs lens mount adapter. The major draw for me to consider a mirrorlesss camera would be the ability to use some of my current lenses with the new smaller form factor. Without that I doubt that I would invest due to the substantial cost in rebuilding a collection of lenses that have a limited use.

I agree. My wife would love one, but only if she could use her Tamron 17-50 2.8 and Canon 30mm f/2 with it. Having to go out and buy new lenses will make her stick with her T1i.

Nothing to against this... But with the current EF/EF-S lenses attached to the MILC, the combo will be no longer small.
