I finally got my Canon 1DX today but not from B&H as I originally wanted to to save on Tax. A local store here had gotten some in and I grabbed one. Unfortunately I had to pay 6% sales tax on it. B&H would not tell me where I was in line so I cancelled my order with them since there was no telling how long it would be.

No, sorry, it's not me who does not saving, but the 1DX !
I have also a 5D Mark III and the same procedure Af Ma works correctly, but no on my 1DX and on other devices.

I can report that having tried to replicate the problem. My 1Dx exhibits the same behavior.
Still, I'm not overly concerned, it seems to be a Firmware glitch which, should be easily fixed with a relevant update.

Just a few from last weekend. I was at the San Jose Obon festival but I was there to work, not to take pictures. ;) I had to squeeze photography into the mix.

It was my second day out with the camera and I spent much more time experimenting with different features/functions than trying to frame shots.

A quickie street candid. I loved the faces the little girl was making:

One of the local schools had a Taiko drum group perform:

I got access to the scissor lift to take some overview shots. I mostly used it for the dance in the early evening, but I liked the way the various lines crossed all over the space in this test shot.

Nothing here to sell the camera, I know, but I already bought mine... :P
