Why is the 7D not listed under compatible cameras?
I thought because now they replaced the bottom strap holder with a tripod mount, it would fit?

you need the little bar which is built in 1 Series cameras. If you don't have that, then you need a plate, such as one made by Kirk, which has a slot to place the strap.

Now this may not be the right plate, but you see the end of it has a place for the strap to attach to.

This is actually the plate for the 7D.

I've had the handstrap on every body I've owned. I don't know how people do without it.

But on an E2? Because there is one strap that attaches to the top, and the other endis a tripod mount screw, not another strap.. I would assume the E2 is compatible with the 7D..

I had this before I went with an RRS L. It worked very well and was inexpensive. Though it doesn't list it as being 7D compatible ...it is!

I'm not sure why the 7D is not listed, but websites would have to list every EOS camera ever made for a complete list.
