Mine was shot at 3.5 because the second deck at the USS Hornet is quite dark. It's quite sharp at 3.5, mine's sharpest at 8

I find mine is fairly sharp wide open but best results are at f/5.6. The fireworks shot I just posted was a 4 second exposure at f/5.6 ISO100 and focus set to infinity (not that focus has much effect on this lens).

you wont regret picking this up.
I sold my Sigma 10mm 2.8 fisheye and bought this shortly after, so much lighter and I never need to focus it

well, the sigma is very nice, I sold it to help fund my wedding. Then when shopping for a new fisheye I went with this one. The Sigma has a nicer build and obviously auto focus. But i never used it at 2.8 and it was very heavy.

This lens is just as eay to use and possibly just as crisp. It was a great choice
