Hi guys, would like to ask about these 3 set up in mind with my 600D:
1. 24-105 F4 L + 430 EXII
2. 15-85 + 430 EX II
or
3. 17-55 F2.8 is + 430 EX II

to be used for event photography.

I would go the 17-55 f2.8. For event photography you need all the available light you can get.

Canon 6D | Canon 7D | Canon 5D mkII | 14L MK II | 24-70L | 70-200 f/2.8L | 100-400L | 400L f/2.8 | Zenitor 15mm | 580EX II |

What you can be sure of - first option is off.

Yeah, I guess I agree with lancebroad.

Do you need f/2.8 then ... Do you need more mm then ... ;-)a

Personally dit not like the 24-105 on a crop body. Mist the wide angel

If with event photography you mean people shots on events, then go with option 2 or 3. I got option 2 and often I wish I would have option 3. The 15-85 is a really versatile lens. Love it. Perfect for event photography -- but the aperture is just not small enough to capture great portraits with low dof. So, if you mostly plan to go for group and 'action' shots then go for option 2. If you like to capture great portraits then go for 3.

Option 3 wins every single time on a crop body ;)
