Nighthound, all I can say is Wow, great bird shots.
I use a telescope mounted to a 35mm camera once. It was great for doing street photography, of course the people we were shooting were on the other side of Lake Havasu, AZ and it's a big lake.
Thanks again Gene. I used a Meade AR-5 refractor for a while before I picked up the 100-400L. It was a beast to move around but the reach was nice. The optics had terrible CA as well and the tube was bright white so not a very stealthy approach. Which telescope are you using?

Great job. As good as you will find on NASA's POTD
Your other photo's are top notch as well. Really good work.
Thanks very much for the kind compliments.

Nice shots in both genres Steve. How does the 500L compare to the Tak for astro stuff ?
Are they taken unguided ?
Thanks Steve. I haven't even tried my 500L for astro work but I've seen the work of others that have. I'd say the 500 optics are right on par with the Sky 90 for deep sky work. Judging by what I've seen with the 500 during daylight and the Sky 90 at night, the CA looks very much the same but those are two very different situations so I can't say for sure. I have no idea how much field curvature would result with the 500 which would be a concern since I don't think there are flatteners available.
