are there any ways to tell if the products are refurbished or not?

Yes, Canon has been adding some red paint to the alignment hole on refurbished lenses. This is not %100 accurate for all lenses but it seems to be a good indicator.

Often on camera bodies they punch a little hole by the serial number tag on the bottom. I've had a lens where the only indicator was a little sticker that said "Genuine refurbished" or something like that. But It peeled right off.

You cant peel off a hole ... If you could... there would be a lot more of just asses.
