Hey all,
Just bought the 5dMKIII with 24-105 kitlens :)
Very happy with this combo, also have a 50mm 1.4, few years old thats getting used on my old 20D.
20D is still doing great, but this 5d, jeez, what a camera!
So, do you guys have some nice lenstips for me? Need a tele zoom and an ultra wide zoom.
Gonna buy it over time, money doesnt grow on trees here lol

Greetings:D

The 24-105 is a great lens for the 5DIII.
Also, I wish I had the 50 1.4 as it is a nice lens. I have the 50 1.8 but haven't tried it on either my II or III
I would say a 70-200 2.8 IS II and a 17-40 and you would be good to go.
One at a time though.

Congrats on the camera.

OH!
Now you need this.

Congrats. Got mine as well just few days back but I havent have much time to take it out as work keeping my hands off my 5D3.

As for lens, if you can afford 70-200 f2.8 II, that will be a beast combo. :)

Congrats. Fine camera. I would get a 70-200 2.8 IS next. If you need a long lens, look at the 100-400L.

The F4 IS is fantastic. For the same money, I would opt for a used canon 70-200 2.8 IS version 1 or I would get a sigma 70-200 2.8 OS HSM. Remember, IS will allow you to shoot slower shutter speeds but that won't allow you to stop action. The only benefit of the F4 is smaller and lighter weight.

First thing you will miss is reach! If you had a 200mm lens before with the 20D, expect to want a teleconverter or pick up a longer lens - such as a 100-400 or the 70-300L - the latter really comes alive on this camera :D The 24-105 is a great lens, I love mine for walk-around or to cover my butt in a bind :) I've heard its not so sharp on crop bodies, but really good on FF

the F4 IS version is a fantastic lens as well. The reviews and users experience of it are top-notch. Many says that compared to f2.8 IS II shoot @ f4, theres really not much difference in IQ. But the f2.8 IS II can shoot very slow shutter speed handheld which I really like. Coupled with 5d3, its superb.
