What's a good trigger for flashes that I could get under 100 bucks?

If you need/want highspeed sync and E-TTL I'd suggest the Pixel Kings for less than 120, but that is a little over budget. I just got them and they work great: http://www.amazon.com …ash-Trigger/dp/B005LUPV1W (external link)

Otherwise these would work fine: http://www.amazon.com …+Flash+Trigger%2FReceiver (external link)

...or wait a while as Youngnou are about to bring out a new series.... The RF-622.

(apparently they were due this month but haven't appeared as yet.)

For simple off-camera set-ups the Yongnuo's deliver bang for your buck. Of course if you need E-TTL you best look elsewhere. I have a set of Yongnuo's older RF-602's and they work well for my purposes.

I like my YN 603's, under $60 got me 4 transceivers. If you don't need ETTL, they're perfect.
If you do need ETTL, wait for the YN622's to come out, they'll be here within a month I'm guessing (they've been on the website for a while now).

Looks like the RF-622C's have been released in China and should be released internationally next month!

If the price is right....:)

I have a set of the RF-603's and though they do transmit a signal to fire the flash, they are crap and I will replace them as soon as funds allow. My gripe is with the PC jack on them. It is there for looks only; do not attempt to use it!! I tried to plug in a PC sync cord and the jack on each unit just collapsed down inside the housing. Same cord has worked fine on all my camera's so it's certainly a quality issue with the 603's. They do still work fine other than broken PC jacks.

They do not have a USB port so there will be no user-installable firmware updates. First release to local market may reveal problems that can be fixed more easily.

In the meantime, the Pixel Kings are well established (12 to 18 months) and stable.

I would recommend not buying the YN-602s.

Maybe I'm a rare case, but my triggers (which worked fine when I first got them) started only firing 1 in 2 shots after 2-3 months, then 1 in 3 and now it's like 1 in 5 or something ridiculous.

Yeah, whatever their official name is - the Yong Nuo 602 flash triggers.

I bought the Cowboystudio brand and am very happy with them. I ended up buying two sets (1 transmitter and 2 receivers each set). If I'm using my light meter to meter a subject I can set the camera down and use the other transmitter to trigger the strobes and take my reading. I have 3 flashes so that leaves 1 extra receiver in case of whatever, all for about $60 shipped.
It's cheap plastic but easy to use and dirt cheap. Really a good set to get the feet wet in triggering flash.
