I've been waiting a year for the Agapanthus to bloom again so the hummingbirds would feed there. There is a row about 50' long of these flowers. They are a Huntington Gardens special color of blue, much richer than the common flowers you see everywhere. There must be 100 birds that feed there. Many times there are 15-20 feeding at the same time.

I shot with a 1D MKIV, 70-200 f2.8 IS with a 1.4tc on a monopod. Some with a 580 EXII flash using high speed sync as noted.

Here are the best 8 of the 600 or so frames I shot over about 2 hours. Your comments and suggestions for improvement would be appreciated.

Yup, these are truly outstanding, all totally off the scale. Subjects and subject isolation, clarity, compositions, colours, backgrounds, all great. I suspect that you are indeed rather happy with these. I would be, but with a total absence of the "rather".

not much to add. pretty darn solid.

you may want to add a high speed flash and compare the 2 sets but these are awful nice!

well done!

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I think I'm going to go back on Friday to try with my 300.
