Can i use both EF and EF-S with the 1d2?

No. Only EF.

If you buy third party lenses for APS-C camera bodies but with EF mount, like Tokina 11-16, you can fit them but you would probablu experience vignetting.

Used to a 20D and switched to a very well used 1DMk2. Same sensor size ,but images are amazing, even at 100%.The weight though is a killer, especially when hand held with a 100-400 shooting Birds in Flight.
So why don't they just take the same same sensor in the 1D series and put it in a camera without all the pro features and inexpensive, they would sell like hotcakes !
I may at some point just switch to a 1DMk3 for th ability to crop more, but would I be giving anything away like focus ability or focus speed?

Actually, the 1D series is APS-H rather than APS-C, giving you a crop factor of 1.3 instead of 1.6. :)

I wish they'd have a normal-sized body for APS-H! Now that it's discontinued though, I suppose we'll never see that happen. The 5D Classic is a pretty good compromise, although the 1-series autofocus definitely beats it. I don't think upgrading to a 1d3 would have any negative effects, although I've personally never used one.

Nice. Now get an EC-B split focusing screen and make that Rokinon 85mm usable :)

I love mine. I am relatively new to the 1d world and love it. My t2i basically sits (except in low light conditions).

You know this camera is great when i dont mind lugging around an extra 25 pounds all day.

The autofocus on this beast really made my tokina 400mm atx come alive.... It is a different lens now

Is it really that hard to manual focus with that lens? When I had a Nikon D300 I often used the Ai-s 105mm 2.8 and it was extremely easy to use IMO.

Now I am scared, lol.
