Thanks for the offer to sell me one Dave... I was looking for a free-be. no worries though ;)

So, just to confirm, you can afford the camera via CLP, but you cant shell out a few bucks to save (in comparison) a decent amount of money?

ok - to everyone who's all upset about me asking for a camera:

I bought one off ebay a couple weeks ago - 99 cents, and ten bucks shipping.

It was stolen from my mail box. I live on a country road. I saw it (at least a brown package) while driving out to get gas for the lawn mower, but when returning home it was gone. I figure it was kids, so I walking up and down the road thinking they'd have dumped it when realizing their big score was a broken 3 MP power****. no luck.

So, instead of going through the paying bit again, I figured I'd ask folks here. If you don't feel like helping, no problem.

I don't think it was the asking that was bothersome, but more the bit of complaining about the lack of a freebie from a member. ;-)a

...Maybe you could put a sign up by your mailbox asking for the broken camera back? I'm guessing whomever took it probably drives by your country home fairly often... ;-)a Probably some bored, dumb kids just causing problems... unfortunately towards your property. :(

I'm not sure where you saw the charge for either eoscount or eosinfo. I just tried both services and was able to download and install both for free without any prompt for payment.

Congrats on the new 60D! - - Good shooting!!

I just tried eoscount and was asked to pay $1.50 before it would give me the shutter count. They must have just started charging over the weekend because when I used it last week, it didn't ask for money.

Just my luck....Have been watching the 5d MK II stock to purchase for CLP. In stock since mid last week. Bought a used camera from E-Bay last week ($8.00) that finally showed up yesterday so I had the serial #, getting ready to place the call and darn if it didn't go out of stock..... Maybe fate is telling me to go all in for the MK III  Now the waiting game again. If the MK III price would drop to @ $2,800 I would pull the trigger, but waiting till November/December to see if there are any price reductions is just too long to wait.

Yea...I saw that and am in the same proverbial boat. It's not like I actually NEED to replace one of my 50D bodies as they've suited me well for the last few years. I do WANT to get a full-frame body though as I'm getting more and more into printing really big prints. My last one is a pano 20"x108" and most others are 20x30. that full frame sensor would give my artwork so much more pop. Or, at least I would hope.

Right there with you RL.

I had planned on picking up a 5DMII in early July after the June promo finished and the inventory stabilized - but then they went and raised the price!

I can wait........ Of course if the MIII price keeps dropping maybe I'll go that direction!

Decisions, decisions.......

Just received my 60d yesterday from the CLP program! I ordered it Friday night, it shipped Monday and I had it by Tuesday afternoon. It looks perfect and I'm loving the upgrade from my old Rebel!
