My mom wanted to come along on a sunset shoot, so I thought I would include her in a few shots since she looked so at peace enjoying the sunset

Just saw your other post and see it is from South Mountain. I have been wanting to take some similar shots from either Shaw Butte or Lookout Mountain in my neck of the Valley - can you tell me what lens/exposure you used?

I'm on my phone right now so I don't have access to the exif data, but I used 5D Mark II, canon 17-40L lens at 17mm, I shot this at f/11 iso 100 and used a Lee .9 Hard Edge GND filter for proper exposure. Hope that helps :)
