Canon "Drool Room" at the Olympics

My understanding is they basically just follow the major events around the world with the kit.

They should give the athletes that win a choice: gold medal, or a 1Dx with an L lens. I can just see Phelps on the podium with that strapped around his neck, lol.

I need a stiff drink and a chair after seeing those pics. Almost passed out from envy!

I can smell those Canon gears just from the pictures.

Demo units, emergency replacements and rentals.

I got an e-mail a month ago through CPS offering demo on the 1Dx, plus on-site service with loaners and rental availability.

Guess they were expecting a few photographers to attend the Olympics.

Good to hear and priced lower than I thought!

CPS provides on site service. They were at the Brickyard 400 this year. Join CPS and use their calender. They provide a lot of good service.

Would love to, but don't meet requirements right now. Would like to just check it out at the Rolex 24 next year. Wonder is they will be there, I would think at least have some presence there.

Well it is not the box thing but those cameras are used to the extreme in the 14 day period. Most likely they'll be abused in 14 days more than anyone's camera has seen in a life time.
What Canon does with those they are in CPS inventory, at the major events like Olympics any member of CPS can request an equipment loan to evalute it. Given the fact everyone is on an assignment and nobody has time to experiment with a new system, majority of the loaners are already 1DX owners who do NOT want to abuse their own gear. Unfortunately they do not go to refubish store, they are and will be inventory of CPS after the Olympics.

LOL, couple million dollars worth of gear and he shot it with his phone
