FWIW, you can put the T2i in Monochrome picture style to learn to see better B&W. If you're shooting RAW, the color info is still there and you can change your mind in post. (I keep meaning to do this but...)

Yup, surprised me when I loaded my shots into lightroom when shooting in B&W and they were all in color the first time.

To the op about B&W: A lot of times I will take shots in color, though and know that when I load it up and edit that a black and white image will be more appealing. Unfortunately I have a bad habit of keeping single photoshop files and such for one image, so I don't always have originals and am too lazy to go back to lightroom to show you an example.

And hey, worst case scenario you press a button in LR, PS, or whatever to see how the image looks in black and white instead, you don't like it, just undo.

On another note, Im considering an Ed Mika glassless adapter for my mirror lens. I hope to improve my mostly bird images...tough competition here! LOL!

I think I would feel safer taking in color then viewing Monochrome In "Picture Style". Had not thought of trying that. Y'all just want to bog me down in PP to keep me from suffering heat stroke in this weather:) Thanks for that. lol Seriously, thanks for reminding me I could do that. I really need to study U. Exposure, PP, and literally taking photos of the same subject with different settings. I am coming from little PP with a G12 and max Exp f8 to the T21 with Exp of f20+. I am literally over my head. Time with U. Exp., online tutorials, and shoot, shoot, shoot to the 10th power!:D Thanks again.

removed the photo for space

I like the colors in this, the shades of colors, and the reflection of the sky in the water. It is nice! A question, Is that a "breaker" of rocks to protecet the "cabin cruisers" and marina from the ocean?

Took Justin's advice and went back and reworked some earlier images.

Great shots Grumpy! Like the bottom one the best.

Here are some from a local car show we had. I struggle with car photography but was fairly happy with these.
