Nice work everybody.

I would like this lens very much, but I'm debating between this or the zeiss 35.. Huge price difference, I know, but I love the Zeiss' rendering..

In my heart I have lusted after a Zeiss. (Sorry, Jimmy). If you have the bucks, get the Zeiss. It's the best 35mm f1.4 lens out there.

If you know you can handle MF'ing and have the money, I wouldn't be hesitant to get the Zeiss. I would however get the C/Y mount one and not the ZE version, but that's just me.

no more debating,

even the venerable Duclos is favoring this lens (over the price/performance) :D

I think the big difference is in the rendering. The Zeiss 35 1.4 seems to give images a serious 3D look. I just don't see that from the Roki.

Great thread on this lens, everyone :D.
Hahahaha, you guys made me order this glass earlier this week when it was on sale for $375. It arrived yesterday and I took it out today for some fun. I think it's worth the money.

on both of my samyang lenses (85mm and 35mm) i pull about a stop of exposure compensation when using auto metering modes with my 5dc.

i also have an ee-s screen which may factor into that.

i also despise clipping highlights.
