Just noticed that the 50D is no longer listed for sale at Canon.com, either new or refurbished. It is now only for sale on the "Clearance" page. They appear to be new ones; the price is higher than the refurbs have been. The following link is for those of you who may be interested:

It was on its way out back when the 60d hit shelves. Canon makes and sells the prior version for a limited time after they start production of the successor model.

Guessing that as the 50D hasn't been made for quite a while the supply of potential refurb units (warranty returns, dealer returns, etc.) has dried up. If you really want a 50D there are still plenty going up for sale here / FM / eBay.

I don't want a 50D. I just thought I'd post the information. I am happy with my 60D. Well, until I can afford a 5D?, that is. "?" because I can't decide Mark II or Mark III. Doesn't matter much. I can't afford either, right now.

That is what I told my wife. She disagrees. I hate it when she thinks. It usually points out that I am not doing so.

She's not thinking quite rightly. Because you get more excellent shots and a higher keeper ratio with the improved AF of the 5D3 you'll be able to spend more quality time with her, because you'll get all the shots you want in quicker time.

It might just confuse her enough to let you get one when you can afford it.

You sir! are a genius! Perhaps I should go for the 70-200 IS USM II at the same time! If she buys this baloney, I will owe you big time.
