Really? If you listen to impulse that's easy enough to say. If you're assured in your tools and you are getting the results you want, there should be no rational reason to need additional tools. I'm perfectly content in my equipment that I recently treated myself to a carbon fibre road bike, a luxury I would have never enjoyed 3 years ago because of the constant inadequacy in my gear.

Mind you, that new Canon M looks awfully fun... ;-)a

Regarding the price drop, I see no indication on either B&H and Adorama that this has happened. Still $3499. This was being talked about as a "price drop", not a sale...

Yah, well if I had all your gear I'd be satisfied too... (Jon's Tools: 5Diii, 5Dii, 24Lii, 50L, 85Lii, 16-35Lii, 70-200Lii)

Why is it that people with money are the only ones I ever hear saying (implying) that money isn't everything... ;)

I don't believe you ;) haha (our lens combo/focal lengths are identical apart from my having an additional 24mm lens. I just have a few extra stops on you which is trivial) Your kit looks pretty sweet...

I needed another 5D for an important gig next weekend and while Abe's price is the best apart from an eBay seller ($3057) they can't ship it for me any faster than 7-9 days at an astounding $129! B&H can ship to me in 3 business days for a quarter of the shipping cost.. :rolleyes:

<snip>

I have the middle-class version of your gear... ;) :) :cool:

I'm in the 99% however I'm trying as hard as I can to get into the 1%... :D

Seriously though your work is spectacular. So I see how you get your gear and wow, you really know what to do with it. Me with your gear would be like putting Baluga cavier on a stale Nabisco cracker...

Thanks for the kind words. I keep my business under the radar as having three little ones means there isn't much of me to go around. I keep pretty busy, though my efforts yield very little recognition. So the affirmation is much appreciated.

But yeah, having the best is making the best out of what you have. I would be happy with non-L lenses but having clients with high expectations means I don't settle for sub-par equipment. Shooting weddings can sometimes be a PITA (don't tell my clients that LOL) but Canon offers great performance tools which certainly takes some of the pressure off!!! The 5D3 is just such a tool which I will gladly work my ass off to own.
