That's a gorgeous transition. I'd love to see how you brought back the sky in this image. Did you just drop the exposure in the are with the brush a few times?

yeah i use a gradient but a brush will work too... i typically drop the exposure, add a lot of clarity, and then some contrast to the sky (only when there's clouds) it makes the clouds pop with the clarity cranked up. but be careful around trees and other things as it could make things "glow"

after that i add another gradient for blue/violet then brush in orange/red at the bottom and it makes a dramatic... but fake looking sky (or you can use a gradient for both colors... pull the orange/red all the way down and only do the blue/violet on the top)

Zakly! Even though it is still like in the 90's after midnight in Dallas (you are in Houston) at least the sun isn't beating your a$$!! I **LOVE** shooting at night!

here's a before and after. All edited in ACR and photoshop using the clone/heal brushes remove the rig and then curves and hue/saturation adjustment layers to bring out some color and contrast. In ACR work was done on the dark exposure and getting some recovery and color in the sky with the gradient tool.

It's funny to see you guys complaining of it being too warm... I was in Dallas last week and thought the heat was great. Come over to Ireland, it's cold, stormy and been pissin down with rain for months. No chance of gettin outside during the day or night ( unless ur camera is waterproof!) :)
