Firstly, this set is supposed to be e-mailed to the model some time soon. Any CC would be greatly appreciated through PM, as to not clutter up the thread.

Got an opportunity to shoot some experienced "models." Been blessed with the opportunity to go to Comiket before leaving Japan. As a complete novice shooting portraits, this was an incredibly eye opening experience. Cosplayers knew exactly how to pose and shoot their attention to different sections of the photography gallery. Sadly, I didn't get to really use my flash because of the lack of an ND filter or an HSS flash. I'll also add, it's quite fun fighting with other photogs to get a model's attention!

The Sigma 30mm was a serious champ at this event. Never too long, but a little short. But when I really got into the event, it wasn't hard getting close to models after waiting my turn. The Sigma 30mm was out most of the day, with the 100L in the bag waiting for an opportunity to come out. The 50mm never saw the light of day!

My first attempt at a series, trying to keep very consistent PP. A very good learning experience for me. The lack of ability to really communicate was also quite a bit of fun :D

Did not expect to see any cosplay shots here. I have yet to finish Madoka, still have a few episodes left.

As far as some quick CC, The last shot I think is the best. Her pose is a bit more dynamic than in the third shot and the background is a lot less distracting. Everything is blurred out nicely and is a consistent color (unlike the yellow shirt in the 3rd photo that draws a lot of attention to it).

I'd imagine shooting Comiket would be a lot of fun.

Thanks for the CC! I never gave the yellow shirt a second glance, but I really do agree on it being distracting now! I may try to desaturate that sucker so it doesn't pop out so much. I received her modeling card and I promised to send her the photos, so I really do appreciate the CC and will continue to work on them. Sadly, as one of the less scantily clad cosplayers, she wasn't getting as much attention from photogs as other girls despite being so pretty.

The hardest part about shooting at Comiket was the fact that there were so many people in the background, and it was unavoidable. The Sigma, being 1.4, was a godsend being able to produce enough bokeh that it throws a lot of the commotion out of context.

As far as Madoka, to be honest, I've never seen any of it either :D I'm thinking, that after shooting Comiket, I should give it a chance. Many of the cosplayers were portraying characters from Madoka so I guess it must be popular for a reason.

Edit:
A quick edit desaturating and dropping the vibrancy a bit. What do you think? More usable than the first? Or should I just toss it out?

I bought this lens yesterday. I've got frontfocus problem that I tried to correct in my 7d with a +7 MA. This a crop 100% at 1.4. Do you think is it good? In my opinion it seems a little soft. May be is it a bad copy of this lens? Better to change it? Let me know please.
Thank you very much.
