The 80's called - they want their font back.

The fonts are distracting.

The maple leafs on top seem to be placed symmetrically, whereas the lower leafs are not. Was this intentional? Just caught my eye.. :)

thanks guys I will do some work to it.

And I thought I would try for a retro type look for the logo, when it's on a photograph it gives it a nice stamp of approval..but I will try and fix it up thanks again

Great start, but honestly man - I'd consider changing the font! The odd letter sizes and spacing scream "free from dafont" (not sure if it is or not) and doesn't say premium at all. You could find something in a similar style that looks way more professional!

Have you considered / tested what it will look like as a watermark on a photograph ?

Just curious.

everything can be proffesional if used in the right way by the right mind/hands, the spacing between each letter can be fixed easily by using the spacing tool(s) in illustrator or indesign.

i do agree though it does look too busy to me and i too am curious if you have tested this out as a watermark on a photograph?

The key to a good logo is simplicity. Keep taking things away from it until you can't possibly lose anymore elements, then remove one or two more and you are there.

Why? What's the rationale? What does your market research say?

I like the font so that's going to stay

Wonderful, but does it work? Does it solve your branding challenges/goals? Design desicisions should not be based off personal preferences. You are not your client. Who is your customer? There is a reason design professionals, and I'm talking about true professionals not cheap logo hacks, are paid well for their expertise.

Analogy: Imagine if you wrote and performed a song for someone's wedding that not only was inappropriate for the occasion, but was also sung off key.

The font is what kills it in my opinion. The "R" and "P" are stretched too much, it doesn't say that I am a professional photographer.

I'm not sure if it's because you scaled the image or because you set it up in photoshop, but there is distortion on the rectangle.

I'll go ahead and disagree a little to say that it's really not that bad. Not that I wouldn't listen to the other advice, but if you're attached to it then go ahead, there's a lot of worse logos out there...

The main issue I see is that it doesn't translate well to showing at a smaller size. Look at your avatar for an example of this, it just looks strange and isn't legible at that size so it wouldn't really work for a watermark or some smaller uses
