I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Let's see, a far more common tragedy; for every one disillusioned hipster, there's about 10,000 of these:

Prosaic suburban man stunned when oh so technically perfect photos of his SUV, petulant children playing soccer (futball), and backyard birds on a stick fail to make him a professional photographer, despite the fact that he was using his newly purchased DSLR & L lens combo.

Man complains, I watch "Survivor," I recently read about Ayn Rand. I have the sharpest photos…the sharpest, I tell ya. I should be the winner!!!

“And we’re seeing a lot of injuries caused by them trying to force a spare film cartridge into the pocket of already too-tight skinny jeans.”

Love it.

"...lurking self-consciously on street corners, wearing a messenger bag filled with old cameras, cigarettes, a James Joyce novel, organic cashews and a Macbook Pro, does not make you a professional photographer." Phil Anthropy

Huh? It doesn't!?!?!

If steroids are illegal for athletes, should PS be illegal for models?

My goodness, they're writing about just about all the twenty-somethings here in Portland. :)

AWESOME! Tell her she's hilarious!

I can't see anywhere where they credited the author... Reads like something from the Onion, which at this point may be my favorite reading material.

Yeah they never receive individual credits on the website itself. The website is actually run by her boyfriend, and both of my sisters regularly write articles for it; it is indeed a lot like The Onion, although a lot of the articles have a South African spin, as that's where they are based. We all share the same dry sense of humour ^__^
