With the exception of impressive very high ISO noise handling, I don't yet see anything on the 1Dx thread making me want to rush out and p/ex my 1Div. IQ doesn't appear to have leaped forwards and I'd hate to lose f/8 AF. Anyone else underwhelmed?

yup very

I bet two photos side by side from the two cameras and few if any would be able to tell the difference, I wouldnt be spending any money on the so called upgrade.

But if you're a sports photographer and the tracking gets you more photos in focus then that could make you more money.

I know a lot of the football (soccer) photographers in the UK get paid on whether their photos are published in the papers.

A fair point. Canon likely couldn't care less about what amateurs like me have to say.

It's a lot more photos you have to sell though to pay for it.

Actually I was thinking the same... I do have some bodies and I might just reserve some time to do a little 'unscientific testing' with 1DX/1DIV/5DII/7D

Hey it was just a suggestion, but that would be awesome of you if you did that!

I think a lot of us would greatly appreciate it. :D

Weekend is coming up... who knows, I might get crazy, do some shooting, post some shots ...and put on my bulletproof vest :lol:

But really, I'm getting to like the idea :p

A couple more, they are all at high ISO and greatly compressed, so the quality may not look so good on quality monitors.

Thanks, my EXIF reader add on has been playing up since I upgraded firefox.
For 12800 and 25600 that is very impressive. I can't imagine I'd need to exceed that hence more than ever the 1Dx answers a question I'm not asking.
