I am using dslr controller with my 60d and transformer tf101. Works very well. But I saw the new tf700.. wow! Great resolution, fast processing. I want it!
Wondering about the best mount to attach to my tripod...suggestions?

I don't use a mount, but Manfrotto makes a laptop tray that can be attached to a light stand. Works quite well, if a bit weighty.

Every tablet mount I've used has been flimsy. They work but they don't inspire confidence. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has used that's sturdy.

For anyone who might be interested, I got my ASUS on a tripod, and working. I purchased the following items:

Here are a couple quick shots with my phone of the setup:

QUOTED IMAGE

QUOTED IMAGE

I'm using the DSLR Controller software.

My initial thoughts about why I may want this is for assuring better preview/focus. Having played with it a little, it may work fine. Although, it defintely slows the picture taking process. Discounting messing with setup and being careful with it all, the picture process itself is somewhat slow. Given the time for it to take the picture, and transfer to the tablet for preview etc.

Not shure how much I'll actually use it. We'll see.

For willieco, asking about how to mount to a tripod. I remembered seeing this post a while back.

Has anyone tried the new Samsung Galaxy Note? Especially transferin raw files from camera to the tablet. I'm looking into buying one and ditch my laptop when traveling.

I am looking at the Galaxy Tab 2 for this reason, my mom has the Tab 2 7.0 and I was able to transfer raw files onto it, also downloaded a raw view that would also save out to jpeg (without any modifications).

I have a TR101 and I use CR-2 Thumbnailer. I can see the raw photos but I can not save the to my internal or my microsd card in a folder. If anyone uses this app and it works in saving photos in a foder, please help. I sent 4 emails to S.Holst (external link) and no return. Does anyone have a manual for it?
Thank you for your help.

Good news.
Was there any lag viewing raw files?

www.rammount.com/ (external link) sells various pieces that can be used for this but it would not be cheap.

Wont work for Asus you need http://www.amazon.com …rmer-TF300T/dp/B008XRZ6T2 (external link)

For Samsung and most others you need http://www.amazon.com …pter-Cable/dp/B0081CRXGI/ (external link)

All devices need an OTG cable which has a different pinout then a standard USB but Asus has a propritory config like Apple.

Lots of great info here as I'll be in the market for a tablet soon... I'm also curious about the Galaxy Note 10.1 if anyone knows/has information about it.

I did my best to read/skim as much of this as I could today at work, do any of the android tablets allow you to be plugged into the camera and view shots after they are taken (looking for a better way to see the images then the little screen on camera)

I was considering getting either a Galaxy Note 10.1 or an iPad 3 (A guy on FM gets the iPads at fantastic prices with US warranty). But now I see the Asus TF700!

Anyone ever had issues with the Asus? I saw reviews online that complain about the tablet keeping on stopping programs, randomly booting and so forth.
