Im the one who made the "porn" comment about the pictures. Porn probably wasnt the right word to use. i should have just said snapshot or something to that effect.

I also noted that it was just my opinion and you didnt need to take them down because of the opinion of one man.

The problem i have is that theres seemingly a trend of people complimenting images because there are breasts involved and not necessarily because they are good photographs. I was simply trying to give my personal opinion on the photographs, and i meant absolutely no harm by it. Im sorry if I offended anyone. Next time ill just say "Nice capture, beautiful wife you have there" like everyone else does, quality image or not.

If I don't like a pic, I don't say anything. If you look through the G&N thread, there are so many pics in there that don't qualify for neither glamour, nor nude, yet they are complimented. Not everyone on these forums has the equipment to shoot glamour, but that doesn't mean they don't/can't share pictures of their special someone. Not all people (Myself included) take book/magazine quality photos, so does that mean they shouldn't be allowed to post in G&N?

I don't have money for fancy lighting, and I don't have room in my house for a glamour shoot, plus I have three kids running around all day. I'm proud of how my little woman looks, and was just trying to share a little bit with the time & equipment that I have available to me. She's cute as a button (to me), but this the G&N thread has left a bad taste in my mouth, so I won't be sharing. I'll still pop in to check out the portraits, that's all.

as my wife says to me... "take your ball and go home?" Realize lots of us have been here for years and might be either somewhat jaded, or have different expectations. I saw the photos before you pulled them. Did they fit in the category? sure they did. We'll leave it at that. Notice the title says "best"... maybe someone thought you could do better and just didn't know how to get that point across.

I've learned that I shoot for me, and for my clients. What anyone else thinks is secondary. Some have VERY good suggestions on how to improve; others just like to troll and drop thought bubbles with no real content. You decide which variety you want to pay attention to. Regardless of what you do or don't post anywhere, keep shooting. You'll reach a level where you're not sure what to do next, or how to improve and then you'll seek out a group. Why not build that relationship now?

I think much of the problem results from the use of "loaded" terminology and the intent of the thread. When people post images of their loved ones, comments are far more likely to hit an emotional nerve than if the images are of hired model, acquaintances or friends. The use of the term "porn" was poorly considered and OneEyedJack has conceded that point. I would encourage commenters to find positive ways of providing feedback vs. pointed, negative critique. Posters should also be willing to accept critique and consider feedback as a way to improve their photographic skills.

To the OP's question of 'what is the proper 'etiquette' for posting in this thread? How 'should' a pic be to be accepted here?," the answer is simple. If you think the image is among your best G&N images of your spouse or significant other, then it's acceptable provided it meets the other rules of the forum (penetration, close-ups of genitalia, porn, etc.).

Believe me, I'm not criticizing anyone's work, nor judging, but...if you scroll through the last 4-5 pages of the G&N thread, how many are anything other than a snapshot, but because it's in front of a white wall or sunset, that makes it glamorous? Is posting a headshot of someone smiling what that thread is about, or sitting in a Jeep, etc...? And once again, I'm not complaining or judging, just asking a question. What is that thread supposed to be? There are some great non-nude pics in that thread, but they look sexy in one way or another. Does having big boobs make every picture sexy or glamorous? The thread, in my opinion, is all over the place. I remember posting a 'sexy' shot before and someone said "Whoah, we have a separate thread for that!'. The pic wasn't showing any skin, but it was risque, but seemed safe enough to me for any thread.

I would never critique someone's pictures, I would just move along if it wasn't my taste. When I see a pic that makes me stop to really look at it, I usually comment on it (All forums, not just G&N).

What I'm saying is, don't worry about what others think or say, if you think it's worthy, post it. If there is an issue, report it to the mods and we'll deal with it.

LOL, OK...again, I'm not judging, I'm just trying to understand the G&N thread guidelines. Does a pic have to be a glamour shot or nude to be in the thread? A lot of pics aren't, and that's my point/question.

you're asking everyone to abide by the same definition of glamour, and yet no one can say exactly, without waver, what is glamorous.

I guess I see the G&N thread being the place to show stuff that isn't allowed in other threads, hence the post & time requirements. You can see head shots in any thread, G&N should be for the risque & naughty stuff....again, just my measly two cents.

well, the fashion world is a bit different, but where does it really belong? maybe in a forum all to itself? try telling your wife she's not glamourous some time... how well do you think that would go over?

I don't see fashion & glamour as being the same. I don't think the post/time/age requirements for the G&N were put in place because of fashion, it's because of adult content. I do agree that fashion should have it's own section.
