bodyboarders can't be out during blackball?? Seriously? I'm a long boarder, so the Wedge is of little interest to me, maybe it is different there, but I've never seen spongers tossed out with the hard boarders...

Surfers are not common at the wedge. But yeah it's not black balled in the summer. In the winter it's fair game :)

It's like this on tons of beaches across the coast during summer.

^^ Would've been fun if there's 15-25 footers rolling in like last year. Oh well, we just have to wait a lil longer.

Ya'll inspired me to head on down to the Wedge myself this last Saturday. Beautiful weather and decent waves (6'-8' range).

One dude I forget who, said a couple posts back, that when the blackball went up at the Wedge that BODYBOARDERS had to get out... that was my question, as I've never heard of that - I surf a couple times a week, in Newport or San Clemente, (T-Street was fun this last week) so yes I am familiar with the blackball  Just never heard of spongers being blackballed

Well since surfing seems to be a big topic as of late (we do live in SoCal after all) here is my contribution. First time shooting surfers :) This was at the Point Mugu Navy Base.
