Would an SSD fit in a Sony laptop that is about 5 years old? Need to fix up a friends one for him!
Would it fit? Yes. Is it a good idea? Probably not.

Very nice, really wish my 24-105 wasn't broken, had some great sunsets here recently! Jonathan wrote in post #14876894 ![]() Would it fit? Yes. Is it a good idea? Probably not. Is it worth just chucking a decent speed hard drive in then, or binning the laptop all together?! Lol.. The 16th UK South-East "The Cooper Crawley Creche" Thread (All Welcome)

Depends what you are trying to achieve. Generally, more memory and a fresh install of the OS is the best way to improve speed on an old machine. A faster HDD can help but depends on what is already in there. If it's a 5400rpm drive then going up to 7200rpm won't make such a difference. Also, you'd need to check if it has a SATA or PATA interface. IMHO, if the kids don't want it and there is no one you know that just needs an internet/email device, then bin it. I like this it reminds me I must get out and do some more sunrise/set shots. Film gear Rollecord V, Yashica A, Halina 35X, Olympus Trip and Canon EOS 5, 500 and 300v

I always find a little tweak after solves this problem! The 16th UK South-East "The Cooper Crawley Creche" Thread (All Welcome)

I would run the tiff file through LR and maybe back of the saturation a tiny bit so the angel and grass, shrubs etc arn't so vibrant, afterall it's an overcast day The 16th UK South-East "The Cooper Crawley Creche" Thread (All Welcome)

Have been up in Newcastle this week to see my Godsons graduation from army foundation college and went and saw the Angel of the north on the way back. The light was not good so have tried my hand at my first HDR shot. There seems to be a very fine line between getting it right and over cooking it. Anyway here is my first attempt.

He has 12 more weeks training at catterick, then I believe he is going to London for guard duties before moving onto active duties. He turns 17 at the end of the month so still quite young. Steve

These are transparency films. Getting them developed by mail order and then scanning them in using my film scanner.
