Would any of my current CF cards work?
Transcend 32GB 600x & 400x Compact Flash

They should work fine but you wont get all that for capturing pics... i think it only registers up to 2gb though... my 8 gig only reads 2 on my 1Dc..

Hey thanks... I'm really digging it. The only thing I found so far that I'm missing is the firewire cable to connect camera to my computer. I would like to remove the previous owner's name from the exif settings but now can't do it with the cable.

Additional:
I just order the firewire interface cable on ebay for $24.00 specifically for the 1D... model# IFC-200D6, as stated on the box.

It's just a plain-jane 6-pin FW cable that could be had for like 2 bucks.

The main issue will be connecting it to your PC and having it see it. The TWAIN drivers rarely work with anything beyond WinXP, and even then it can be iffy.

There are a few dozen posts about it in this thread. I did get it to work (somewhat) in Vista, but connecting it to the PC and then using PSE to connect to the camera. I was able to change the name on the camera just before it would error out.

Hmmm, I'll see how all things pan out once I get the cable. Wouldnt of had to go this route if the previous owner never placed his name in the exif settings :(

You can get up to 4 gigs if your format it in FAT 16.

Hope I don't get in trouble for this, but I need the word spread. I'm going to miss it but I'm in a bad spot. I know one of you could use it.

Has anyone tried the new Sigma 18-50mm f2.8-4.5 OS on the 1d? I have both the f3.5-5.6 and the f2.8 constant versions of the 18-50mm, and the f3.5-5.6 vignettes only until about 22mm (yup, it's a cheap "wide" if you consider 28mm wide), but the f2.8 constant vignettes throughout most of the range. I saw this guy selling a 1dc with the new OS lens, and wondering if anyone else has tried it?

I emailed the seller about it but haven't heard back from him...

Some bodies, some lenses, and that's all I'll list in case the wife sees this. ;)

Sweet, the seller replied!!

"... Camera is in good condition it has wear marks on the body, but I have had no problems with the camera. The lens dose not show a vignette in the frame."

So boys and girls, sounds like we have a cheap way to get 18mm f2.8 with OS!

Does anybody actually have one to confirm if this is true? That would be great news!

Only 32bit right? HIGHLY doubt anything will work in 64bit because of the nonexistant support for 64bit drivers.

Could you link the drivers needed and what you did?

The previous sketchy owner had his company embedded into the camera and is refusing to give find and give me the firewire cable. Sketch.

Also, UPDATE! I got explorer to view the 1D's TIFF files some how!!!

I just uninstalled the microsoft raw codec, and did an update to windows live photo viewer, reinstalled the codec, and magically it works.

Figured this out while trying to get Panasonic's stupid RW2 files to work, but failed.

Right, 32-bit only.

MS's codec packs will let you view RAW for most Canon cameras now.

I'll see if I can find the TWAIN driver.
