Ryan, are you still at the zoo?? There was a guy I met today that makes the tiger go absolutely nuts when he see's him. He stated he was one of the people who sedated the tiger when he was brought to the cage and that the tiger never forgot. Unbelievable really. The tigers reaction to him should be recorded for youtube.

I would love to do a planned photo-shoot with him knowing he has that ability..

i'm game for a photo shoot at the zoo (when it's not so insanely hot)! definitely missing capturing the animals! :)

A couple of plastic boxes that have some electronics, metal, & glass parts attached to it.

I'm only a volunteer now so I try to make it out there on a free weekend if possible. Yeah the animals definitely have good memories. Heard a story about the squirrel monkeys, every time they saw the old primates manager they would climb to the highest points in the trees only because they knew if that person were to walk in then one of them was going to captured, for physicals and stuff like that.

There are some very good pictures of lightning on this thread. Anyone want to share their setup/settings and what lens/camera you're using. I have finally gotten back into my photography in time for the monsoons and would love to take some shots like these. Thanks for any and all assistance.

icassel = great shot! Love that the horse is pulling a 'Jordan' - sticking its tongue out. One of my fav shots of all time is one I took in HS of the barrel racing team practices, both horse and rider concentrating hard, dirt flying, etc

awesome!

SunDevilstormin, great shots!

Every time I get a chance to go out it is nothing over here in South Phoenix with any finger lighting. Just bright flashes. I guess I need to go out and travel some to a different spot when the next storm comes in.

Had business in Tucson and hit Saguaro Nat Park (west) for sunset. Hoped for lightning and got a small but active cell after sunset. My first frame had the best strike, within a 1/4 mile (BOOM). The rest were... out of focus when I changed lenses and didn't verify focus :(
