Where did you have to drive to to be able to take it without any light pollution? (I'm close by, is the reason I ask) ![]() Randy Crowell, TX Website: VisualUniverse.org

No tracking or guiding. 133 light frames @ 200mm iso 6400, f2.8, 1.6 sec 20 dark 20 bias Stacked in DSS. Still need to work on my post processing to bring out more color in the nebulosity. Well done. I'm yet to get anything like this. I'd almost resigned myself that a tracker of some sort is required. Thanks for the gee up and renewed interest.

It's worth a drive out to nowhere for best results. And stacking is really the only way to get decently sharp narrow field pictures (without a tracker). swoffa wrote in post #14885441 Well done. Aug 26, 2012 08:25 | #1169 They have high ISO and that makes them good for night shots , just not all can afford the $$ . Picture is nice , just too much blue . The Andromeda Galaxie M31 is just below that antenna tip at about 7o'clock . Nice catch .

Look just to the left and below the antenna. Not bad for a shot taken within the city. Geoff | SmugMug
