had a chance to shoot Metallica on Friday for their kick off on the canadian tour.

was a great show. lots of energy. they played on the largest stage ever to exist in that particular arena. it was absolutely massive.

this is my first real concert I've taken photos at. any C&C wold be appreciated.

thanks for looking!

Bang up job!

The only thing I see(nit picking really, I never would have noticed it before but seeing it pointed out it here and elsewhere I've come to notice it when it happens) is in the last image. To me it looks as if the stand behind and to the left is stuck in his ear. I do it all the time and have actually become quite proficient in removing telephone poles that are growing out of things/peoples heads(okay, maybe I'm overstating the "quite proficient" part). I don't mean to be a d*ck, it's just something that seems to jump out at me.

that's a good point. I didn't even notice that. it almost looks like its shooting a laser into his ear. lol

I'm usually better at picking stuff like that out, but i haven't done any shooting for about a year and a half and just back into it the other day. trying to get back into the groove of things still.

Those are great. Some part of me thinks they would look great in B&W :)

chumlee, I was never good at B&W conversions so I kind of stay away from them.

Nice set. Great moments.

What type of pit set up was it? I see lots of hands.

I'm assuming this was some type of theater in the round as I dont see their huge LCD screens.

A couple of nits:
1- The mic in James' face in 8
2- Most of these strike me as too centered. I would try framing with the rule of thirds. Makes for a stronger composition.

Joe- 2 bodies, L 2.8 zoom trilogy and a couple of primes

Love the Hetfield shots! The Trujillo one is also a wall hanger. Thanks for sharing!
