Awesome pics being posted today but the one that wins the day for me is bobo's flying fish, talk about being in the right place at the right time! the clarity is just awesome, excellent work bobo, should really be in a book

bobo, admiring the shots again. That first one is taken 54 meters away! Nice work getting that one.

FWIW: It looks like you pushed the shadows/pulled highlights a bit too much, as there's a halo around the bird. Great shot though. This is just a PP note for future consideration -- I don't see halos in the other two.

I disagree, the sky on the last two seems to be clear compared to #1, I think this blends really well,( on my screen anyway)......

If you have never done fireworks before you should search the internet for tips/tricks on how to do it properly. The first time I tired it it was a disaster and then read up about them and the next few times were much much better.

New setup - not particularly. As can been seen time and again from this thread and its past threads the 550D paired with a reasonable lens preforms like magic. I am not one of those who gets gear crazy just because it is normally my skills rather then the gear that is at fault most of the time. So for now now no 7D, no primes.

But that said, the ISO handling on the T series is not all that great for fast shutter/low light forcing me to use a flash for example on small insects. I can live with that but always prefer natural light. I might however get a full frame camera either the 5D3 or 1Dx but still thinking about that. The shutter count on the 550D is nearing max anyway so may need a 2nd camera soon + repairing this one when the time comes.

Yeah been reading all the advices about Fireworks. So this is my first practise, so that few weeks later coming Finland´s Champs of Fireworks, so I know what I did right or mostly wrong

Im having a work assignement for 9 weeks, so with that all extra money then I about to get 5d mark iii.
And as you are right, I love my 550d with 15-85 (fantastic with good light) and ofcourse my 70-200 4l is usm, but like you said, ISO is not that good.
Does the Mark iii make me better photographer? NO. But I can get it

Truly, this thread showing, that skills are behind the camera, and with good lenses, you can make absolutely fantastic job with this camera.
