No one has addressed the pose. When shooting a small group you should attempt to their heads closer together. possibly have the Father kneel down.

Listen! .... do you smell something?

It was shot at f16. ISO was already at 800. I clearly could've done better but I was in a hurry and didn't have time to mess with it too much. One day I will be able to shoot and take my time. lol

I did use my 560's for this. In hindsight, tri-pod, earlier shooting, and more time setting up would've been the difference between how it is now, and how it could've been. I learned a lot from just this one shot!
Thanks again!

I think that if you had used f9-f10 and reduced the flash output by 1 1/3- 1 2/3 stops(this would also defocus the background slightly, putting more emphasis on you and your kids) the picture would have been perfect...Great looking kids BTW...There's always next time.:D

pic looks good, but could have been better. I would have used prob f 5.6, and adjusted my shutter speed and iso by metering the background so it is exposed how I like, this would have potentially allowed a faster shutter speed depending on your iso. Then I would have adjusted flash power manually to expose the subjects.
