^ Darren, very nice portrait. As are others on your Flickr page.

Here is one I did last weekend. It was a family portrait session and this was the last shot of the evening. Sun was getting low, all the kids and grandkids were on the patio. I got dad to leave the grill long enough for a couple clicks. Einstein with mid sized PLM soft silver with diffusion panel. It was probably 15 feet away.

the horizontal lines in this photo are distracting. the retaining wall is close to horizontal but the pool edges keep grabbing my attention I would use adaptive wide angle to try and fix those

i would seriously want to see the PSD file for this. What light modifier did you use? Was there a reflector involved in the lighting?

One look and I know you took this image.
You have developed a great style.
This is what we all strive for.
If it didn't have your name associated with it,
I would still know it's yours.

wow thanks - that is the ultimate compliment

thanks - this was lit with a PCB Einstein and PCB Giant softbox in horizontal orientation - no reflector used just feathering the light.

Cheers Darren:)

I love this image and what a great model u have found too. The only thing that keeps this image from being perfect for me is the shadow on her leg making it appear like it is bruised.

Now this is what I'm talking about! HOT!!!!

My only gripe is her legs. Looks like bruises. Otherwise it's a dope image.

Good spot.
This is essentially the proof I sent them, so didn't spend any time looking for the obvious off angle stuff. Probably a little Lightroom tweaking in the lens tool.

Thanks for the observation.

Yea, I noticed the legs too.
Must be the texture or whatever from the background but it really needs to be fixed in my view.

oh so the light wrap alone was enough to lift the shadows. if i used a reflective umbrella to light my subject and then used a reflector to lift the shadows on the other side, would the result be the same?
one last question. what backdrop do you use that allows the texture to blend so well? i believe grey is needed to get perfect texture blends. i only have either a white or a black backdrop so i resort to losing a strobe to grey the background. your image really pops out man! i wish i knew how you do that

much better. though imo could be cleaned up just a tad more as the legs aren't as flawless as the rest of her skin. Also the legs on my monitor seem to have a little bit more of a reddish hue. i'm being nitpicky to say the least so take what i say with a grain of salt. nonetheless a great image.
