I just got it a week ago and I must say, this is one fun lens... I had the Tokina 10-17 on my crops and I used it from about 12.5 on the canon 5d' but this is just a different world now... I simply love it.

Here are a few shots from today...

Used the lens for my trip and was great fun! Loved the perspective you could get with this lens. Used it a ton!

Extremely sharp lens, excellent colors and flare resistant as can be. Would never flare even into the sun. Build was great on the lens. Hood was a little annoying so I generally just took it off all the time.

I would not buy it though for myself... Glad I just rented it. Although amazing, its a big much for such a specialty lens. Great fun though!

Very neat lens. I had a fun time with it when I rented the lens.

I had an opportunity recently to test drive Canon's 8-15mm lens. The first time I borrowed this little light bender, the night skies didn't cooperate quite to my liking.... this time, however, I came away with something quite special.

This is a full circular fisheye image of the night sky, showcasing the movement of the stars (star trail). The image is a composite of over 100 separate 30-second exposures, totaling just under 1 hour of movement. I used some editing tricks to get the trails to gradually increase in brightness so you can see the direction of movement.

You'll notice some of the brightest stars reflecting in the calm water, and the brighter band of stars at the top of the frame is the Milky Way. The North Star is also visible in the upper left at the center point of the spin.

That could grace any magazine cover. What a great job there.
