Hello one and all,

Just thought I would say hello, I have been lurking for a while, I am very very new to photography, having just purchased a 600d. I am enjoying the learning curve, but it gets a bit steep at times!

I just hope that in time I can get some shots that are worthy of posting on here, I have just done a macro experience at a local camera shop which was an eye opener, an hour of theory and my brain was frazzled, but I did get a few shots which I like.

Simon

welcome! I am new here as well and have found it to be a great place to learn. I have run several photography forums myself but none with the vitality and energy as this one has. To think, it is over ten years old and everyone still likes one another :) :) Usually the admins/moderators burn out long before that amount of time, so this is a special place indeed.
So read but also post some photos and learn by constructive criticism, it is by far the fastest and best way to learn. Just don't take the criticism the wrong way, it is meant to show areas you need to work on that you may not even be aware of yet, and you may find suggestions included in the critiques that advance you rapidly from novice to serious amateur!

again, welcome!

Welcome to the forum. You might want to peruse some of the stickies at the top of each forum. THere is a ton of info there that will help you get started.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.
