I just tried to order the same set (60D and 24-105) and was unable to replicate. He would only give me the 20% without the 15% sale price. I think I will try again later to see if I can get a different rep.

I just tried as well and no go :(

Hence the need for independent verification

Unfortunately, most of the lenses people want are OOS (Out of Stock).

Watch for them to return to stock as soon as the sale is over however!

This is a no win for Canon - if they exclude items from the sale - people would complain that the sale excluded the choice items ~ since there are now a lot of OOS items - people will complain about the lack of selection.

Already beat to death in this thread: https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1220958

Yeah, it sucks that we see great prices on items that are either oos or being intentionally held back until the promotion is over.

That's what I am wondering, because some items say "out of stock" and others say "notify me when available". Sounds like two separate things and that there may be some stock of certain items that haven't been placed on the web, but when they are, you will be notified.

Has anyone called Canon asking if they could order an item that's currently out of stock? All they would have to do is bill you and ship. Any luck?

Under the CLP the product must be in stock for them to enter the order into their system. If it's not in stock, no order.

I did look at that 1D IV for a long time but figured I would never sell my wife on the idea. She did OK a 5D3 + 3 lenses back in June so I'm happy.:D

Jim K, you are a lucky man to have a wife like that. Whenever UPS leaves just an envelope with a memory card in it I get the 3rd degree. Fortunately I have the expensive stuff sent to work.

ps: Don't tell on me.

Pulled the trigger and bought a 7d with the EF 24-105L IS USM lens. Purchased on Saturday and paid the overnight shipping fee, camera arrived on Tuesday. Very happy with the purchase. The shutter count on the camera is 131, but the website shown on page 1 charges $1.49 to obtain the shutter count.
