[QUOTE=2slo;14908461]Nice and clear. With a neutral uncluttered background and the frog kept in focus with the face of the little girl holding it also in the shot and slightly OOF, this could have been a brilliant shot. If you've cropped it down to this and the original still has that detail, it still could be. Just my opinion FWIW :)

Mark,

Thanks for your thoughts and compliment.

When I took these images, I had just taken receipt of this lens which at the time, felt like a monster and I was very self-conscious of walking around with it and pointing it at people. Especially children that I did not know. I aimed the lens away from the child's face because I did not know if it was alright to take the image with her face so readily identifiable. She had just won the frog jumping contest and was showing off the champion. I did take another image but it is not from the same vantage point and has a leg in the background:

A couple of others from this endeavor at a town fair would be:

This was a reporter taking an image for the local newspaper:

I am very used to the conspicuous nature of the 70-200 now. It is such a workhorse of a lens in my kit.

Perfectly understandable. I take exactly the same stance, i.e. I'm very cautious who and what I take photographs of, even on occasion passing up good opportunities when I couldn't be certain if taking a shot might cause offence. No doubt different if you make money from photography but for an amateur like me, better safe than sorry.

Thanks! First one was shutter speed priority 1/125th @ f/11. Second one was wide open with the Kenko Pro 300 DGX 1.4x, 1/1600 @ f/4. Last one, wide open again, 1/640 @ f/2.8.

It may be fun to left-click on this image to take you to the Flickr page, and right-click on it when it opens. Viewing it in one of the larger sizes will reveal either a cloud of perspiration or an exhaled breath, streaming to the ground. You can see the effects of gravity on some of these balls of moisture as they stretch out. It was really "hard' light that day.

Nice lens.
