S1X is a very good name.
Reminiscent of the SX1, sibling to the G1X.
It must have a fast lens in a compact body,
or else Canon will be throwing in the towel
in the high-end P&S department.

Went searching for a s100 today and noticed that it was difficult to find. The shop owner said that their system has the range up as being discontinued and they are marking down prices to get rid of the old stock. This normally happens when a new model is due. I had to go to a Canon repair shop to find a refurb.

First impression: This is a little beauty - the photos are impressive.

Yes, and I managed to contact a Canon rep in the process. It seems they have some stock issues from Europe to us. Wonder if Canon is reducing the stock levels intentionally?

I think it would be too soon for a replacement. Perhaps, it will be ready in the first quarter of 2013.
