I still haven't got around to getting the 35 f/1.4, trying to decide between that and getting a Fuji X Pro 1 as a backup / day to day body. While figuring that out I'm really finding the 24-70 to be very good wide open. Another example from this week at f/2.8

The only prime I own in the range of the 24-70 is the 50/1.8G and the 24-70 is so good I won't be buying any others. Bokeh isn't a high priority for what I do.

I love my 70-300. Super sharp when shooting stopped down.

I really like the 24-70. It's sharp and the AF is fast. :)

Do you know of any lens that has a faster AF? Every time I use mine I'm amazed how fast it is.

Idk tbh. When I picked up the 24-70 it was based on it's sharpness and 2.8 aperture. :)

Anyways, you in on the D600?

Thanks Julian! Ya, those mountains are pretty nice. The beartooth mountains in Montana. We were fighting a fire just to the right of where the picture was taken.

I'm not sure yet, it still hasn't been made official and one hangup for me is whether or not it has an AF motor. That and the price will be the main things for me. It should push down the price of used D700 bodies and the D700 would be a perfect second FF body for me.

as far as the lenses I have used...

16-35mm f/4 = 24-70mm f/2.8 = 70-200mm VRII on AF speed

I really really want to get back both the 16-35mm and 70-200mm, but it will be a while

why?AFAIK only D lenses are affected by it... you still use some D lenses?
