I couldn't of taken shots like these without the 500(some + 1.4TC), hence the need for the purchase.

Bought one (used of course) over the weekend and FedEx tracking currently says 'on truck for delivery'. It's 7:20PM - I can't wait any longer..........

I remember my day well too. Got it delivered to work and people were asking me what I could take with it. A few days after I got it, I was on my mom's front porch taking Cedar Waxwing pics, when this Cooper's Hawk got after one of the waxwings. Both of them nearly flew into the front of the lens. I was hand-holding it not expecting anything like that to happen, lucky I didn't drop it.
