You need to call ebay, and tell them what happened and how you were uniformed.

If you get a good CS representative you will get the full $56.xx (or whatever it is) RIGHT AWAY as a credit to your account (you will not have to wait for the 3 months or whatever it is to use it). If you get a poor CS representative they will give you $20 promotion to use right away as well.

How do I know? I made the same mistake on the previous 5D3 sale. Called them, told CS I'm an idiot, he said the most he can do is $20, but he'll talk to his manager, and his manager approved the full $60.xx that I was owed. Bought another battery the next day.

First CS person I spoke to said no go for anything. I signed up afterwards, and can't get credit.

Second CS person put me on hold for like five minutes, and came back to tell me that her supervisor is going to call me back within the hour.

Well, guess it pays to be an idiot. Just called and they credited my Ebay bucks account $69.98, to reflect the now $3499 price tag, despite having only payed $2799.

Wow. I'm on the line with CS now and the guy interpreted me asking if I could get the amount I missed out on as eBay bucks credited to my account as CANCELING THE TRANSACTION. I am now terrified that this guy is going to somehow void my purchase, lol.

EDIT: Aaaand now he randomly placed me on hold after breathing heavily into the phone for 30 seconds without so much as a word. Lol. All I can picture is that guy from the NHL credit card commercials, "Pegi".

Do a Google Search for E Bay Bucks sign up. That's how I found it.

I guess it's YMMV. But it was worth a shot. I would probably ask to talk to a manager or escalate the claim or something, considering several people here (at least me and the guy above me) had luck getting the ebay bucks AFTER the sale.

From what he was telling me he took it to his supervisor and went to bat for me, but no go. He was really apologetic when he came back, and I was on hold for awhile...maybe 5 minutes.

I have a silly question. What are ebay bucks? Are they dollars credited to your next purchase? Do you need to sign up for this?
