It certainly is, especially coming from a kit lens (18-55) and 50 f/1.8.

Much better build quality and very sharp even wide open at f/1.8. Have to stop my fifty down to f/4 to get similar results.

Only been at this about 6 months, but already bitten by the glass bug. Better start saving for my first L!

...i rarely use this body these days, so i decided to purchase an inexpensive lens to use for video. (maybe not the smartest idea, since i know nothing about it)
