So, Mr B, when do you give up the print game and go full time photo taking - all these awards and exhibitions, it's very exciting! :D

Cheers

Not sure what the size will be, I am doing a bit of a photo shoot for a couple units at work and I was looking to offer them the prints framed and unframed and trying to get an idea of price.

I will give Mark a shout as Sevenoaks is just down the road

Quick IT question is it easy to change your hard drive and copy everything from your original to your new one. It is just an upgrade so no issues with the old one.

Jonathan wrote in post #14940938 (external link)
Yes - just clone it with Macrium Reflect (external link)

Im looking to do the same. My new OCZ Vertex 4 256GB SSD came with a copy of Acronis True Image HD to clone the old drive but whilst reading about doing this, i came across a fair few sites strongly recommending against cloning onto a new SSD as can cause a problem with Drivers and the TRIM software. Apparently cloning onto normal HDD's is fine but with SSD's it causes problems.

Anyone know about that - i.e Jon?

I did the exact same thing using macrium Rob 2 weeks ago on my lappy. I replaced the old HDD with an SSD. The only issue was you cannot clone a larger drive to SSD. So I had a 320GB HDD and a 256GB SSD (same as yours) so I have to reduce the partition size of the 320GB below 256GB. Once installed I whacked it back to 256GB. I read lots about the timings etc of the drives and if they are sequenced correctly. Quite a few good progs to test the speeds and if its set up well.

That's correct - but Adrian is using a hybrid drive and a full blown SSD. In your case, fresh install is what you need to ensure that TRIM configures properly. It worked for Ian using Macrium but it is not the recommended way. TBH, I'd had a few when I tried to help Ian and I missed the fact he was cloning from HDD to SSD
