POTN G-series Speed Challenge #395 - MELLOW

Thanks, teekay, for the nod. Good contest this week!
And congrats to CarloY and Maureen. I think the girl in the chair nailed the theme.
And the mellow yellow golden hour lighting in SF was really nice.

Yeah, I wish the sheriff's foot hadn't been cut off. This was one of those prairie doggin' shots where I had to stand, shoot and get out of the way. I think I should head back down to Tombstone and see if I can get a better shot

I am glad you liked the photo, and that was why I posted it -- the whole general feel of it. I like how the 'edge of sunset' is mirrored on both the background and foreground. But I had a very difficult time in PP trying to get rid of some blur and blown highlights in the face of the girl on the left. In the end, I thought the photo lacked really-good photo quality due to graininess in the sky and whole upper half. Surprisingly, the background buildings came in nicely, so perhaps focus/DOF issue.

Just to reveal how awkward I was in shooting... it is a cropped photo of a vignetted shot. I had put on my 2x lens adapter, and saw the scene, so took the shot (before I zoomed to Tele range). Amateur!.. 'Yes', San Francisco (overlooking the 'crookedest street in the world' tourist mecca)

I surely thought you would have picked Maureen's mellow gal, or one of many others. I like so many: needsnow's smoke, jim's japanese garden, Raven's Marshall especially.

Congrats to fellows: Maureen and Raven. Thanks for a neat challenge Teekay. The abstract themes certainly shake things up.

I have to admit I was a bit stumped on this one. Didn't really get a chance to shoot and obviously deleted the shot from the archives I went to retreive. 2 TB HD on the way, so that shouldn't happen again.

Linda , they are lovely pumps. as you will know Donevan sang the song 'mellow yellow' way back and its funny but we both were thinking the very same when naming the shots.
I was going to say the same but decided not to and very glad I didn't, your picture was just perfect with that title.

Marie - as soon as I saw the challenge I immediately thought of my pumps but then I went to look elsewhere for inspiration but inspiration didn't come...but the pumps were beckoning me from my wardrobe!! ....and, yes, the "Mellow Yellow" song did drift into my mind too!

Maureen - love your shot! I can now say with confidence after a glass or two : I am not sozzled, I'm just mellow!
Great pictures this week from all .... Carlo, I thought the vignette suited the scene as well

I have learned to use my Pro 1 regularly for any photo ops that come along to meet the challenges. While I prefer to shoot my photo the week of the contest, sometimes I see something that grabs my attention & I take the shot & store it in my Pro1 folder. Thus, this photo was shot in May & as soon as teekay posted "Mellow", I immediately went to that photo.
