My old photo car. Took this all over the Rocky Mountains. 1984 metallic sapphire Porsche 944, cloth seats.

Here's my "daily not so daily" blow'd up in the driveway. It's in the middle of painting it and my "fun" car is there on the right. I'll take some clean pictures of it later. All the ones I have currently are hitting cones.

My old e30. Neither photography or editing was mine at the time.

LOL..yeah, thats why it's the highest ranked SUV for resale value? I've had a lot of Jeeps (10, 7 of them purchased new) and never really had any mechanical issues other than from some abuse.

oh, and yeah, I get them dirty..

I'd take a Land Cruiser over any other truck in the world for real off road abuse and expeditions. The UN, governments, diplomats, and aficionados would agree as well. There is no better engineered or reliable truck on the road.

That white Grand Cherokee doesn't even have a frame. It's a unibody.

You're right, I've pulled Landcruisers out of some great places. Governments buy from the lowest bidder. There is not another production consumer vehicle in the world that will follow a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. It's a fact. Old school Cruisers were tough but the crap they make now, it just a rebadged Lexus with independent suspension. Live axles are more capable, more robust and just plain logical.

And that "frameless" unibody handled more abuse than any Landcruiser would have taken. Even with the added stress of having a longarm suspension welded onto the frame and the added lever strenght that put on it, the unibody took it just fine.

You can take your Toy's, I'll take the vehicle that won WW2... ;)

Excellent! I'm not a Toyota fanboy, and I do like the older Land Cruisers, but I would gladly take a TJ for some heavy duty off-road abuse if I could afford a trail rig.

My 4Runner only sees moderate stuff, I can't afford to break anything. :p

At least we agree on the KM1s/KM2s. ;)

I dig the WJ. I guess the only bad thing about them was all the red gilmer dirt you brought home with you.

Wish I had pics of my old '75 IH Scout II. I like the Rubicon, there, but ….well, I won't get into a scout jeep thing….;) I really miss rock crawling in Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas. Boo.

I have one some where….I'll dig it up…from 20 years ago.

Back to working on the impala. A little at a time. I really like the "big" brutish VW, too.
