Just seen this has started shipping.

No need for software at either end! and Strictly complies to SD standards - alledgedly low power consumtion!

I always wondered, when we see all the problems with the Eye-Fi cards and Eye Fi always blaming all failures and card error 02's on the CF/SD Adapter [But strangely the adapter always seems to be able to run with the standard SD data cards even when this happens?]
Call me cynical but could it actually be the Eye Fi card causing the problems?
I also looked at a few of their updates which had fixes to things that seemed curiously close to some of the card errors on the CF/SD adapter problems.
[Hmmm why would they put forward a bug fix for a product that they go to extreme lengths on their forum to state they emphatically do not support - unless it was actually causing problems across the board??]

Is it more likely that Toshiba will deliver a more solid product?
All I need now is some rich 7D owner ;)to try it out with the new Extreme 4th Gen. Adapter [after the update fix] to see if this works

Is yours the connect or pro X2 card. And did you use the Extreme CF/SD Adapter?
Does it ever get hot?

Peter

Thanks for all the posts
I am surprised as everywhere else I looked there seemed to be lots of problems with the Eye-Fi solution in a CF/SD adapter. However the main supplier of these adapters tells me they now have a fix that makes it rock solid.
I was just interested in the Toshiba quality standard and their influence within the industry.

Just seen this has started shipping.

If it really has just started shipping I wonder why it's a year late - LINK

Interesting point but all the info I saw was that they would preview it in Sept 2011, and ship to US in Q2 2012. So they are a month late.
Could be because Eye Fi petitioned the SD Assoc. complaining, that to put WI FI in the SD standard would infringe their copywright or competivie advantage or something like that I forget the specifics - that could be a big reason for the delay.

Whoops. I see it was announced in Sep 2011 - and would be on sale in February. So it's only 7 months late.
